This was almost certainly the first women's game I ever photographed. This was not surprising as Finchley were the first English women's rugby side, later to become part of the Richmond rugby club set up.
Described as the first English women's Rugby International, with Finchley representing England and Nijmegen representing the Netherlands
Great game and the Nijmegen Wasps stayed in the bar long after the match, and what a great bunch of players. One of the best after match occasions I have ever had. :-)
Unusually I have not been able to identify many of the players. If you recognise anyone in the photos and can help me with improving the captions I will be very grateful (Pete Jenkins at From the Back of a Motorbike info@fromthebackofamotorbike.co.uk)
