1985 was back in the pre-league days. Also, the days when Harlequin were allowed to use the Cabbage Patch as their home pitch.
As a youth I saw many Harlequin home games at HQ. Wonderful arena, even in those days (pre the modernisation and building). However, it must have been less than inspiring for the players as the Quin’s home games never saw more than a few thousand in those days, and no where near enough to make a dent on the vast open spaces that made up the Twickenham terraces in those days.
These were also the days of the tremendous Gloucester pack.
