'Back in the Day', I did try and attend all the games I could. Regular matches were easy to organise and get to, however some of the other games; those representative scratch side affairs like the Barbarians and Public School Wanderers and so many moe were often quite elusive.
This game I only discovered was taking place becasue of a brief mention in the Wasps programme the match before!
Of course I turned up to witness an evening game under the Wasps training lights. Barley enough light to see, let alone take photos by. I very nearly did not include this film the pics were so bad. For the technically minded we are talking push processing HP5 film from 400asa to 6400 asa - only ever done in desperation. Even then there was not enough light other than using F1.8 on my 50 mm lens, which was too short to get really good photos other than waiting for lineouts. And even at F1.8 I was shooting at 1/125th of a second or slower making it almost impossible to capture movement without huge blur. All in all a photographic nightmare. So sorry about that.
